How to Prepare for Laser Hair Removal

Pre-Treatment Guidelines 

1. Minimize sun exposure 

It’s best to minimize sun exposure to the treatment area because this can make the skin more sensitive to heat from the laser. Tanning can also interfere with the results, so you should avoid tanning beds for at least six weeks before your appointment.   

2. Avoid plucking, tweezing, and waxing 

It is important not to pluck, tweeze, or wax the targeted area at least 4-6 weeks before your first laser hair removal session. These hair removal methods disrupt the hair follicle, which must be intact for the procedure to be effective. 

3. Avoid certain medications :

Consult with our team if you are on any antibiotics or accutane within the past 6 months.

4. Shave the treatment area 

You must shave the area to be treated the morning of your laser hair removal appointment. Shaving will help the laser energy locate the hair follicles easier and prevent irritation. 

5. Skin must not be sunburned or injured

Sunburned or injured skin cannot be treated with laser hair removal.
